How God Got Me To Care…. About Prayer

As I get up the morning and make my way on the 5.9 mile, 12 minute drive to work, I often use that as a time of prayer and conversation with God.  I then mosey on into work, grab a cup of coffee and take five minutes of peace while I read some of the current events going on in the world.  Read more…

Good or Godly – Part 2

Is it just about being Good or is it about being Godly?  Last time in Part 1 I talked about  how “the Christian parent must do everything in their power to pass on the heart and passion for the Lord to include the knowledge”.
We touched on Deuteronomy 6:1-9 and I promised that we would discuss how as individuals and as parents we need to really grab hold of  what is being said here in Deuteronomy and run with it! Let’s take a look at what is being said here.

Good or Godly: Deuteronomy 6:1-9, Part 1

“6 When Joshua dismissed the people, the people of Israel went each to his inheritance to take possession of the land. 7 And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work that the Lord had done for Israel.8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of 110 years. 9 And they buried him within the boundaries of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of the mountain of Gaash. 10 And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.” – Judges 2:6-10 (ESV)

So, Wow! How could one generation live passionately for God and the next generation become a bunch of pagans?

GREAT SCOTT… I need to be intentional!

I have to admit that I am a pretty big fan of movies, Back to the Future being one of them.  I was really focused this week on what it means to do my best for Christ and then I thought, what if I had a time machine?
