Statistics show that most people in America don't have a problem with God, or with Jesus, but they do have a problem with a church that is perceived to be institutional, legalistic, judgemental and exclusive. The truth is that no church is perfect, because churches are made up of people, and people are not perfect. However, many good meaning Christians get caught up in inadvertantly being loving sometimes, and judgemental at other times, according to their individual feelings, beliefs and backgrounds. These actions are often subjective and inconsistent. When the God's church is able to unify her beliefs with the grace-filled church of the New Testament, and allow her actions to flow out of foundational values, then much inadvertant hypocrisy goes away and powerful impact is restored. This 15 part series focuses on 8 core values at Craig Christian Church, and the steps we are taking to prayerfully, boldly and humbly align our actions with them in the present and the future. Messages from this series are available at the church office.
Life is difficult and filled with many joys, burdens and tragic circumstances. When our joy and happiness is based on our circumstances, no matter how good or bad, then our sense of well-being is destined to sway back and forth like the waves of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. God has a better and more consistent way of living in mind for us- a way that is not based on changing circumstances, but on unchanging love and truth that leads to peace, strength and joy in the midst of any circumstance. In the series, "Discover God- The Journey from Surviving to Thriving", we discover what it means not only to survive the blizzards of life, but to learn how to thrive in the midst of them. These messages are available at the church office.
